Riverside, California lies inside the boundary lines of Riverside County. It is considered part of the Greater Los Angeles Area.
This city was founded during the 1880s and contains an Inn, which is a replica of the Catholic monks missions of the 18th century. Although John North founded Riverside,
Junipero Serra is accredited with beginning the California Missions. Interestingly, the city developed into a Spanish Mediterranean Mecca.
There was once a Spanish rancho where Riverside stands today. The Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe was erected during the 1920s. Christopher Miller owned the old Glenwood Tavern.
Riverside is accredited with the introduction of the navel orange in 1871.
